Hi all,

I went to the charlton game on saturday and the atmosphere was fantastic, but it led me to think that to away supporters at the walkers we must have be like the charlton fans, very quite.

If 4000 people can make that much noise why cant 25-26000.
Is it because the away supports are position away from the kop end?

I would be interested in your thoughts.

away fans are too far away, some people still go on about MON days too much and cant face reality, football is watched by so many arseholes.......can go on for hours to why home support nationwide is poor. some lass in the antigallican on saturday came up and said "we need more like you" had no idea what she was on about, but she sits in the kop behind me about 5 rows back and is amazed i will start singing on my own even with no one else joining in. ever since i was 14 and started going to football, either the amount of drink i could handle affected how much i sang (ie. no amount to handle and sang for ever) or i just had more confidence than others, always baffled me that people of 20+years of age tanked up on beer wouldnt have the bottle to stand and sing and perhaps make an arse of themselves

Home fans don't sing because most of them feel silly if they do - its a culture that needs changing. Why do Leicester home fans have some ingrained pyshchological deformality that prevents them from showing emotion - so reticent it pisses me off.

I have always sung matchs since a was a wee lad cos that what i thought you did. But a few years ago i had to go to a game for the first time on my own and all around me people didnt sing and so i felt immtimated but evenually i thought WTF and sang away and it got a few more fans behind singing.

i dont think its just an LCFC thing - i remember takin a mate to see city at the walkers and he was a bolton fan and said the atmosphere there was way better than at the reebok (and that was a 0-0 draw). the only times i can remember the atmospher at the walkers being really good was when we beat forest 1-0 2 seasons ago when it was an evening kick off and everyone was leathered and during the blackburn and charlton games last season

man city in the fa cup last year was a good atmosphere. i sang for most of the game, and there were only 18000 there. maybe because the part-timers watched it on the box...

I think the comparison between home and away support is unfair as, in my opinion, the away support is full of more passionate supporters whose main kick is to out sing the home fans.

Filbert Street did give an edge however and that was, I feel, down to the fact that the Kop was mainly populated by the same passionate fans or could it have been that the ground was more enclosed i.e. what the tiggers experience at Welford Street.

I for one have found that I am less vocal over the past few years as I tend to leave the singing to the young ones, but to say that this has anything to do with MON is untrue. I just don't seem to be able to get going at the Walkers.

Sticking the away fans at the other end and in the corner was a big mistake. Also so few clubs bring any decent support so why bother?

They can't hear me and I can't hear them.

Don't get me wrong I think the Walkers is a fabulous ground but were the hell is the Kop? As soon as the Old Kop disappeared, OK so too harsh, was spread out then I'm afraid the writing was on the wall as far as atmosphere went. It also doesn't help when you have Mr and Mrs Mute sitting behind the goal.

I'm afraid you guys will just have to try harder. I promise I will too.
