So we finish the season with an average of 31,693 at each match. This breaks the club record from 1957/8 of 31,359.
I believe that every home ticket was sold throughout the season which is excellent. As is the fact that the club confirmed today that all 23,000 season tickets have been sold for next season without them being available on general sale.
We were the 12th best supported team in England in 2014/15, comfortably exceeding the support for so-called similar sized clubs like WBA or Stoke. The team immediately above us in the rankings is Villa.
It's clear that there is no sense in maintaining this level of support and not increasing the stadium capacity. On the other hand, a bigger stadium is a pointless white elephant in the Championship. At what point should the owners look to add the extra 8,000 seats onto the East, North stands?
