So come on, someone who went - give us the lowdown!!
He said Stearman is the best of the young players at the club, but also mentioned Sheehan and Dawson as doing well. He thinks the youth setup should be a lot better, and we should be producing a lot more players.
He said Tommy Wright is a very committed player, with a good will to win, but technically he's not good enough for the first team. They're working on his weaknesses and haven't given up on him.
He said Matt Heath has done OK, but not enough to demand a first team place. He sometimes heads the ball better in the opponents area better than in our own.
Said Gillespie has been no trouble at all, and he hasn't needed to do anything special to motivate him, other than praise him when he's done well.
Williams has been superb, and has loads of ability. Is trying to turn him from a holding type player into a box to box midfielder.
He didn't think de Vries did that well against Charlton, and he can play a lot better. de Vries worries a lot, and he's alreafy worried about not scoring for us yet.
Connolly is as good a finisher as he's seen, but has been very unlucky for us this season.
Jordan Stewart works hard, and is very conscientious. They're working on his tackling.
Makin was allowed to go because Maybury is first choice right back, and we have Canero and Stearman who can also played there. Was unhappy with Makin when he was subbed at Ipswich, because he didn't acknowledge Stearman as he lft the pitch.
Scowcroft was allowed to go because he didn't score enough goals, and was on Premiership wages.
The squad will be smaller next season, he's concentrating on getting quality players in, rather than quantity, although he realises it's a risky thing to do.
When he brings players in he wants them to be potentially good enough for the premiership. He doesn't want to be in a situation where we have to change the whole team if we go up, then do it again if we get relegated.
I think everyone who went last night got the impression that we have a superb manager, who knows exactly what he wants to do, and how to achieve it.
