Promising young defender Ben Nelson will spend the 2022/23 season on loan with League Two side Rochdale, subject to league approval.
The 18-year-old England youth international has risen through the ranks of Leicester City’s Academy to become a key performer in the Club’s Development Squad in recent seasons.
Nelson first appeared in Brendan Rodgers’ First Team squad for European fixtures during the Club’s 2020/21 UEFA Europa League campaign and went on to be named Academy Player of the Season that same year.
His progression will now continue with Robbie Stockdale’s Rochdale side in League Two, where the team will start the campaign away to Gillingham on Saturday 6 August before hosting Burton Albion in the Carabao Cup First Round three days later.
