Leicester City defender Filip Benković has signed for Championship side Bristol City on loan until the end of the 2019/20 campaign, subject to Football League clearance.
The 22-year-old Croatian joined the Foxes on a five-year-deal from Dinamo Zagreb in August 2018 and made his debut for the Club in an EFL Cup tie against Fleetwood Town during the same month.
A product of Dinamo Zagreb’s youth academy, Benkovic made his full international debut in a friendly fixture against Tunisia in June 2019 after enjoying a successful loan spell under Brendan Rodgers at Celtic last season, where he played 27 times in all competitions for The Bhoys.
He was also part of Croatia’s Under-21 side that competed in the UEFA European Under-21 Championship last summer.
Benković has made one appearance for the Foxes this season in a 2-0 Emirates FA Cup win over Wigan Athletic, as well as three for the Club’s Under-21s side in the Leasing.com Trophy.
He will now continue his progression with Lee Johnson's outfit, who are next in action against QPR on Saturday.
