...so there's another one crossed off the list.

i wanted him purely for the future, BUT he would not be good enough for the short term so not bothered really.

Oh dear, how sad, what a shame. ;)

What is big appeal about Cov..what do the players see there aparts cash ofcourse...mercenaries!
It must be one of the worst cities in england and why as i club do they always seem to unlimited resources without any success?
Many players are attracted to clubs like charlton and fulman due to the clubs being in london location,location,location...( pretty much like in the "olden days" of rugby leicester losing out to clubs like wasps, and harliquins),
But...who on earth would wan't to have live even VISIT that SH**T hole at least once week for matches and everyday for training!
Do the players get driven to training´matches wearing paperbags? must be something in the contract...

not too bothered he would of been good in my opinion but i thinkwe still need a 25 goal a season player

i thinkwe still need a 25 goal a season player

Why?

No one scored 25 goals in our league last season.

Sunderland's top scorer was David Connolly, with 13 league goals.
Birmingham's top scorer was Gary McSheffrey, also with 13 league goals, plus 3 in cups.
Derby's top scorer was Steve Howard, with 16 league goals, 1 in the cup and 2 in play-offs.

Correct Tom we still need that 25/season man, was never going to be Best or Job or Cort for that matter IMO only Fryatt has the capabilities to get that many which is why i believe we will see a new striker (Mcloud must be favourite) although we also need a creative central midfielder (caled Hendrie) and a left back(Morfaw) to complete the squad.

The sort of garbage that scored several vital goals that put Saints in the play offs then?

Not the finished article. Not garbage either.

Takes a great pen, though

The Saints fans will be cheering as he walks out the door

I've seen him play quite a bit and he does have talent. He had a mare in the play off final, and showed a lack of desire and motivation during some periods at saints which would put a player in the bad books of any support. You're right tho Homer - the majority of their fans will be glad to see the back of him. He wasn't the man for us. Needs to sort his head out.

As far as important goals, ok about 3, but he was important in their push for the play offs. I shall declare my sources for this opinion on:

1 my mate from Southampton
2 Wikipedia(!!!) "After his successful loan spells, Best returned to play an important role in guiding Southampton to the Championship play-offs, where the Saints faced Derby County"
3 vital football - There is no blame on anyone. We are all in it together and all desperately disappointed because we deserved better.'

Cranie added: 'Leon Best has scored some vital goals to get us this far so no-one is going to blame him at all.

You have to give credit to all the penalty takers for having the bottle to do it.'

I'm sorry, but for us to get a 25, 20 or even a 15 goals a season striker, ... I've got more chance of getting a blowjob from a daffodil.

we already have a 15 goal a season striker so them flowers better be ready.

I wait with baited breath ( and a box of miracle Grow)
