Hearts have given permission for Patrick Kisnorbo to move to Leicester City with immediate effect.
The Australian defender signed a pre-contract agreement with Craig Levein’s club in January but was expected to see out the remainder of his Hearts deal, which ends in June.
However Robertson has agreed that the player, who has been out injured since January, can leave Tynecastle and begin life with his new club. Hearts will continue to pay his wages until his contract runs out. Kisnorbo said: "I’m very grateful to John Robertson. Obviously he needs to plan for next season and he could easily have left me to stew on the sidelines. But he has allowed me to move on to Leicester.
"I’m now training as a Leicester player and went up to Sunderland on the team bus with the lads at the weekend. After everything appeared to be put on hold a couple of months ago, I can now get on with my career at Leicester."
