Just got a phone call from "my bank".

Asked me to confirm my name and then asked me for my the first line of my address, postcode and DOB to confirm my identity.

"No", says I "you're the bloke who's phoned me - if you don't have my details then you can sod off. I'll phone you back"

He gave me a number, which went into Google and turned up loads of people being spammed. I used the normal number for my bank and amazingly they have no record of wanting to talk to me.

My gullible boss was asked similar because apparently all direct debits needed to be re-done.

He told him his details and then ask three or four of us whether we'd receive similar info.

No came back the answer.
