Boston reject Kirk bid - from us?

Boston have rejected a bid from an unnamed Championship side for Andy Kirk.

Leicester City are believed to have been the mystery bidders with Foxes boss Craig Levein keen to be reunited with Kirk after their time together at Hearts.

Boston boss Steve Evans was delighted that the club rejected the offer for the Northern Ireland international.

"I spoke to the manager who wanted 'Kirky', but it was only yesterday when I found a bid had been tabled," Evans told The Lincolnshire Echo.

"It was five-figures, rising to six with various clauses.

"But credit goes to our chairman, Jon Sotnick, who turned it down and told me we don't need to sell Andy.

"I am thankful he is still my player because he's a tremendous striker, although I am expecting another bid to be tabled."

... which was about an unsubstantiated rumour. This is a new story that everyone else seems to have missed - thought it was worth it's own thread. After all, it's just about the first thread on here for days that is actually about a football... :roll: :?

5 figures aint that much and im guessing it wouldnt become a 6 figure sum for a while, like not till next season. and we must have made a bit of cash from losing dave basset. iv got mixed feelings about this, nothing immensely positives been said about the lad and his record while at hearts isnt fantastic:

well it depends how you look at it 32 goals from 75 starts is pretty good, but if you add up his total appearances its 32 from 134 - less than a goal every 4 games, or 10 or so a season in the championship....i would be very surprised if it was us after him cos after all levein let him leave hearts so cant have considered him that important up there
