I've always thought it, Soumare has the physical attributes to be a fantastic player. He is also technically very capable. Are we finally starting to see a player who can flourish in the premier league? For me he is similar to Joe Linton. Someone who was written off for a long time but is now starting to find himself.

If we can partner him with the right type of player, I think he could become something special for us.

He has been hit and miss in his first couple of years. I remember one game against Man City at home in his first season when he was unbelievable. But very often has flattered to deceive.

He deserved a start after Man Utd in the cup and his sub appearance against Ipswich, and he has been consistently good since. First name on the midfield team sheet at the moment.

He might be the only fit midfielder soon, so you may be right...

He's been much better recently....but for a few games. He's got a lot to do to convince me and others that he's a decent Premier League midfielder. He's still lazy and clumsy on the ball at times which is precisely how he pissed away possession so easily for Brighton's second.

I'll pause on changing my mind on Soumare (and Daka) until we've seen enough evidence that either can be consistent.

It would be great if he could come good and he's definitely closer to being an actual footballer than we have seen in previous games. Let's just hope the improvement continues.

That's a weird showcase.

Is he doing anything on there that any midfielder shouldn't be able to do? There are a couple of decent passes but there's nothing there that jumps out as a moment of real quality.

However, considering he couldn't actually control a football or run or pass or shoot or tackle or walk properly, or look interested in any of his previous games for us until the last 3, it's a pretty big corner turned. Long may it continue.
