I read the books a few million years ago. The films have ben shite compared to the books, but I guess that's usually the case.

Having said that, the film version with Richard Chamberlain was much nearer the book than the Matt Damon drivel.

I read that apart from the first film which loosely bases itself, the rest have been nothing like the books.

Then after they made the films, some bloke wrote the fourth when the original author is six foot under the deck.
