What is his current situation? (fitness etc.)

Clearly Maybury is our first choice right back now and defensively i think Levein prefers Makin over him. He hasn't made the bench for awhile and is never really mentioned on the OS. When people have said he is injured he is never on the injured list mentioned.

One issue might be that he is not a natural right back

I like Canero, he never seems to have put a foot wrong when he has played. I think he would look good as a centre midfielder, but I can't see him getting past Williams, Nalis and Gudjonsson in the side. I prefer him to Makin, and I would rather keep Canero, as he also has age on his side. But I am not the boss and I am sure what ever Levein decides to do with Canero will be the right decision in the end!

I like him too but there's just no place for the poor fella these days.

He is not going to start in front of Gillespie or Maybury. :?

He may have been injured.

Meanwhile, Peter Canero is a likely starter for a City XI who travel to holders Hinckley United tonight for a Westerby Cup quarter-final.

Unlikely to play in that unless he was in need of some fitness work. :? :? :(

he definately seems to have weight issues when ive seen him

I think Canero would be a better option on the bench than Makin as he can provide decent cover for both right back and right midfield, but based on current performances and results we can hardly question CL. Maybe there are off field issues we are all unaware of.
