Any of you wise computer heads around here know how it is possible to capture just the audio from a video stream on the internet??

What I'm trying to do is get a copy of the set that Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly played at Glastonbury. You can watch it on the BBC website and I was wondering if it is possible to capture just the audio from that so I can listen to it over and over again because it was mint!!

If anyone could help us with this then I would actually love you!!! :)

Is there not a program that could just record the audio that is being played on my computer, kind of like a virtual tape deck!! :102:

There is a Firefox downloader that will capture the stream from YouTube or iFilms or similar. Download it from here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2390

That will enable you to download the stream and save it as a .flv file (Flash Video).

You can convert this and burn it to DVD with DVD Flick, downloadable from here:
http://www.dvdflick.net/

Be warned - when you see the results on a TV screen, you might wish you had never bothered. The quality will be low; something that has been optimised for streaming into a 3-inch window is hardy going to be great on a 32-inch screen.

Which bit of "just the audio" didn't you understand?

Done it now, thanks for the advice everyone.

I couldn't get the Windows Sound Recorder to work but used a free sound recorder found off the net that was sweet as.

Cheers!! :038:

I use Audacity, after someone on here suggested it to me after I asked exactly the same question!
