when the final whistle went yesterday we all left our seats as pi$$ed off as you can imagine.
as everyone headed towards the exit there was a group of about eight people who just barged their way DOWN the stairs towards the perimeter track,without saying excuse me etc and not caring that they were pushing into people.
when me and Ben got to middle of the stairwell(where the railing is) i noticed the lad at the back of the group had a FULL plastic pint glass of lager/beer and was going UP into the seats with it(though alcohol wasn't allowed past that point??)
anyways Ben had a word with the steward standing there,asking him what he was doing letting people force their way up with complete disregard for the fans exiting the ground(obviously he didn't say it QUITE like that!!) and the steward said 'i can't stop them'... as Ben was talking to him, i turned round to see where our mate Dave was as we were giving him a lift home,and this lad had barged into him,so Dave told him to watch what he was doing(Dave is an older chap not a young'un) as he came down the first part of the stairwell i saw this little toerag turn round,say 'fukkin w^nk^' and then THROW the full glass all over Dave's back,and then he scarpered down the front to his mates...
as you can understand,Dave wasn't happy and complained to the Chief Steward who told us that these people were part of the CATERING STAFF...you know....the ones who can't do their bl00dy job properly and run out of food BEFORE halftime!!
anyways...Dave has made an official complaint about this steward(Dave used to be one himself) and how he failed to do his job properly regarding Health and Safety and all that and next home game,he is going to speak face to face with the catering manager about the little git who threw the beer.
all i can say is, it's a good job they went up when they did,and not when the lads from the back of L1 were coming down cos there would've been a lot of aggro!!
