If wot I've read is true I can't see the point in having a reserve or youth team - Why not all the teams outside the "greed is good" league getting together and just have a first team squad of x amount of players - then everybody can have a team full of johney foreigners and no England team - I am sick of the greedy bastards in the Premier league just rough riding over everyone - not giving a flying fcuk about any body else - apart from that russian tawt who gave a massive 20k to save the Rotherham fund - big deal - Emile Heskey gave us 100k

Thats as much as he was allowed to give.

His girlfriend could have donated more....... back pocket change for him.

what has happened to Chambers then?

Apparently he can't sign a professional contract until he's 17 whereupon he can go anywhere for diddly squat - my point being wots the point of going to the expense of having a youth academy and the like when in theory they can all bugger off for practically nothing when they reach 17.

There were many who could and didn't donate....

He finds ways of paying his players obscene bonus payments, some against EUFA rulings, he could have found other ways to get more to Rotherham...... He earns £20k when he takes a piss.

When is the money for Rotherham's future due?

dunno, buts its sooner rather than later, we know only too well what they are going through.
I believe in situations like this the bigger clubs should help in some sort of a way.

Would anyone be prepared to help out on Saturday's game? :102:

I think there's a rule that if another club comes in for a U-17 player, either a fee has to be agreed, or a tribunal works out a fee, which bears in mind the time he has been at the original club, costs of development of the player and then performance based clauses that add to the fee if he plays x nmber of games, gains international honours, etc.

So with Chambers, while we are powerless to stop him moving elsewhere, I'm pretty sure we would get some compensation.

The compo would probably be less than 50k, probably a lot less. There is nothing you can do though, you can't legally work in this country until you are of school leaving age, it's just the same.

IMO Chambo would be mad to be considering moving on at this stage in his career. Im sure he and his father (who I understand acts as his advisor) will understand this. We have shown a willingness to play the lad where we can and I'm sure this wont go unoticed when it comes to signing his first contract. How many games is the lad likely to get at Manure or Chelski??? He will sign on here on his 17th birthday IMO.

And he is a city fan of course which will help, if he is destined for bigger and better things then im sure he would like to rack up a few appearances for his favourite club first.

He would, but I bet his scumbag agent wouldn't

Ha ha true, but im sure his agent would make more by him signing for us, then moving on in a big money transfer 6 months down the line!!!

I agree, but the other side of that coin, and what the agent will also be thinking is if he plays for 6 months and has a "mare" his value will decrease.

Also it is pretty cut throat. Agents like to make money quick out of players. Not many of them play the investing game

edit: Just seen Duzza's valued input above. Makes it all bollox really don't it
