Young Foxes Fall To Chelsea

Leicester City's reserve side went down 1-0 at the hands of Chelsea on Monday evening.

City again fielded a youthful line up - with no player in the starting line up over the age of 19.

And the young charges came away from the game disappointed after seeing no return for their gutsy performance.

Chelsea grabbed the only goal of the game in first half stoppage time to take all three points at the Recreation Ground, Aldershot.

Speaking after the game, coach Peter Houston (pictured) said: "I cannot fault the players for their effort. Most of them played in the 5-0 Academy win over Aston Villa on Saturday so it was a lot to ask of them.

"The Chelsea coach spoke to me after the game and admitted we deserved to get something out of the game. It just wasn't our night.

"But some of our players were just 15 years old and they will gain a heck of a lot of experience from playing in games like this."

Most of the top teams don't play many first team squad members in reserve matches these days.

I've only heard of 5.....Pidgeley, Morais x2, Oliveira and Kneissl. Saying that, I hadn't heard of 3 of the City reserve players.
