Leicester City Football Club can confirm that an agreement has been reached for the sale of Ben Chilwell to Chelsea for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old left back came through the ranks of Leicester City’s Academy and his transfer will see the Stamford Bridge side pay one of the largest transfer fees ever received by the Foxes.

Since making his Leicester City debut in a League Cup tie against Hull City in October 2015, Chilwell has gone on to make 123 appearances for the Club in all competitions, including 99 in the Premier League. He scored four times for the Foxes during that period – most recently in a 1-1 draw against Watford towards the end of last season.

His performances with Leicester City have seen him establish himself at international level, making 11 senior England appearances to date, including a Three Lions debut in a friendly against Switzerland at King Power Stadium in September 2018.

Ben leaves with the best wishes of everyone at Leicester City, and the Club would like to thank him for his contribution to an exciting period for the team and its fans as they look forward to another season of European football.

FFS. I'm gutted to see this.

At least its done. Hopefully we are ready to move to seal deals for a replacement and strengthen elsewhere now.

If we let another key asset leave without a replacement (Mahrez, Maguire) then we may as well give up - and sack the people who are meant to be sorting these deals out (Congerton and Rudkin)

The replacement will determine how I feel.

We're embarrassed about the price then, which will surely come out in the end anyway.

No loss at all. Now let's get a proper footballer in to replace him.
I wouldn't go that far but there's clearly no reason to prolong the agony of the deal.

Excellent

We've had Chelsea yet again.
