Leicester captain Danny Tiatto says the side boss Craig Levein is building is geared towards winning promotion.

"As long as we keep competing and working hard for 90 minutes like we have we shouldn't have a problem," the Australian told BBC Radio Leicester.
"The manager wants a high tempo from the players all over the park. "You have to be physically and mentally strong to get out of this division. We have a young side that's full of energy and wants to play in the Premiership."

All starting to sound positive from the city camp.:icon_eek:

... and why not ? :) ;)

After all the doom and gloom that was around this forum over the pre season it is good to hear some positivity.:038:
I know one swallow etc.....(careful...) but if we can't be upbeat and optimistic about our beloved City what can we be upbeat about ;)

being upbeat about elics is one of the things that cheers me up after a long day at work.

Its good to hear that sort of thing coming from your captain as well. It sends out a message to other teams that we mean business, and why not!

i would have thought its the kind of thing most captains would say :102: :icon_lol:

I'd rather the bugger kept his gob shut and stopped giving away free kicks on the edge of our area. I love his spirit and commitment, but he is a costly player sometimes. In terms of match fitness/pratice it was clear he was a few matches behind everyone else on Saturday.

Did he get booked? I honestly can't remember:icon_eek:

You have to remember that Tiatto is Australian and therefore it is in his very nature to be confident and slightly arrogant.

Quite, he's hardly going to say that we only have 1 striker and we'll be lucky to avoid relegation is he?
Nice to see someone else being realistic vixy babes!

Cynical Vixen,very cynical.

I believe its a compulsory requirements of official club websites for all captains to make this sort of statement unless they have been actually already relegated.

We have 4 points out of 9 from 3 fixtures including 2 home fixtures.

I expect a win at Crewe on Saturday and that will probably lead to some habitually OTT posters being able to celebrate a championship winning season before the end of August.

I wish it was that simple,

Now, Now Redditch, you are beginning to sound like an old misery .....complaining about the fickle boneheads. I actually believe that most posters on this forum are extremely realistic.

We all know there is a massive rebuilding job being undertaken by CL, one which appears to be moving in the right direction. I agree on that on paper the 4 points from 9 including 2 home games does not look like championship winning form, but what most people are saying that its the level of performance and potential which is giving fans optimism that we can sustain a challenge for the play offs. We have a young side that on the whole have had the better of games against Sheff Utd, Stoke and Ipswich - none of these teams would be classed as a pushover, we can see the potential and also based on the current performance levels we should respect opposition but fear no one.

But I do agree that probably every captain in the country will be bulling up there teams credentials and trying to gee the fans up.

I agree with all that including the old misery comment with one exception.

The exception is the 'extremely realistic' bit.

There is a strong tendency to over-react to individual good results and individual poor results and a general lack of perspective and realism in many postings.

As I see it, we are improving under better management and the longer term prospects will be good providing expectations are kept within reason. IMO its a great pity that MA did not leave immediately after (an unnecessary) relegation thereby giving a new manager two seasons with the benefit of parachoute monies.

The difficulty now is that its asking a lot for CL to achieve promotion this season (by scraping into the play-offs) and thereby getting that major cash boost - and there is a very real problem of further financial pressures on the already too small squad (& wait till the injuries and suspensions pile up in the coming winter) if we don't get promotion - particularly as the club seems to be going out of its way to discourage the sale of match day tickets - a matter dealt with in a rare moment of realism from Bill Anderson in the Mercury/ Blue Army feature.

The old misery bit was just a joke ...old mate. But you do make some excellent points, although I do still think that the majority of posters on this forum are fairly realistic, however there are other forum's that are very fickle in their viewpoints.

Yes people will and do get carried away on a wave of emotion following a good or bad result, but in the cold light of day most of us realise the task ahead but with optimism we can see the progress and realise the potential under CL and therefore the opportunity and ability to be challenging for a top six position this season. But the realism is that we have a young side who are learning together and it will take time and this season I sense more paitence amongst the majority of fans. We can see the club is now moving in the right direction and hopefully if we all unite behind the management and players we can reach our goal together.
