What was it?

Discuss.

It should be the last one. There was a philosophy espoused on this forum some 12-15 months ago that the last 15 mins of your life should be the best based on the fact that we should be continually improving as we go forward. The Japanese have a word for it keizen.

I also say in another post that in many ways (off and on the pitch) we have not moved forward since 1989. PFKAKTF FOX mentions how CL is trying to build from the bottom upwards and perhaps if that technique had been applied in 1989 then we would have continually improved and our greatest game would have been the last game we played. I am beginning to realise the missed opportunities that City have had in the last 20 years.

If you want an actual game, the Play Off Final against Palace. ;)

yeh good call, if only for that bit of commentary that makes me shoot my wad....

"and this could be......the winner from claridge....IT IS!!!!"

:)

Leicester City 5 Shrewsbury 2
FA Cup Quarter Final

Greatest for me without doubt. We had 3 different keepers (Wallington,Young and Lynex if I'm not mistaken) a Jimmy Melrose hat trick as well I think.

Also try and consider the game in importance.

One of my Dad's favourite City games.

Liverpool 0 City 1 Whitworth Charity Shield.

or even more impressive against Liverpool - the 1- 0 win at Anfield in the 5th or 6th round of the FA Cup in a mid week replay circa 1970 - scorer I recall, Andy Lochhead.

The next one, that's what gives us hope...

this is a tough one. ill have to think but Crystal Palace is quite high up for me. Or the Middlesborough play off final. as I was a Ball boy for that and to do that at Wembley was truely amazing for me. The problem with this discussion is different games mean different things to different people.

City 5-2 Sunderland. Arguably one of the best City performances of recent times, Collymore and Heskey's one game together up front, Izzet, etc all looked truly awesome that day...and it was live on Sky!

Beating 'Boro in the replay was a close second...for very different reasons!

My cousin was ballboy for the Middlesbrough League Cup Final.
pretty sure it wasnt me hazzman.;)

performance wise when i have attended games i would say the 5-2 versus the mackems, or 3-0 away at boro in recent years. for personal reasons i would have to pick the playoff final against palace as it was the game i first saw on TV and was when my mother convinced me to support city instead of newcastle (father's team). SC's goal is still saved on my mobile phone as a great memory and slightly unfortunate defining moment of my life

100% agree.Maybe not the most important game in our history, but without doubt the greatest game i've seen.

The win at Hillsboro to win the league cup.
The 1-0 win against Oxford to stay in the old division 2( 1992 i believe)
The 2-1 win at Anfield ending Liverpools 80+ unbeaten home record.(1980?).

All great moments and theres many more. They look even greater with the current state that the club is in .
