Was that not the problem we had? Costa had already been banned and fined against Everton and so when it was highlighted that Vardy had done something similar, the FA had to give the same punishment? The downside of being a big team

Although saying that. Towards the end of the Spurs game yesterday, Vertonghen was pointing and swearing in the ref's face, after he had given a foul away against Rondon and nothing happened. - Vertonghen wasn't even booked.

Two separate issues.
1. Vardy suspended one extra game for foul mouth. Same punishment as for Costa.
2. The club not controlling our players well enough for the West ham penalty situation. Fined £20.000. Will the FA use this as presedence towards a "bigger" club? That was Bob's point

Seems to me that a £20k fine for LCFC falls between two stalls: if the FA are really concerned, then this is a derisory sum - a bit like fining you or me 10p! If they're not really bothered, then why levy a fine at all?

As I understand it, this sort of penalty is wholly dependent upon the referees report. If he mentions an issue then the FA is duty bound to act.

The real issue here isn't with the FA, it is with referees that have completely different tolerance levels.
