Leeds Fixture Moved
Leicester City's final home match of the season will has been moved back a day on police advice.

The game, originally scheduled for Saturday April 30, will now be played on Sunday May 1 due to a clash with the Leicester Tigers last game of their season at Welford Road.

RFU rules mean that the Tigers are unable to rearrange their fixture and this has resulted in the police insisting that City play the following day to avoid the two clubs being in action simultaneously.
Kick-off at the Walkers Stadium will be at 3pm on the new date.

Looking forward to all our Friday night/Sunday afternnon games next year

are you sure this applies to all games though? This is a home game in the cup so there is no guarentee tigers will always get to this stage and be drawn at home, so it may be possible for future league games to be moved?

This is Tigers last League game of the season, it is not a cup game

The only reason RFU rules say the game has to be played on the saturday is because it's their last game of the season, and to be fair to teams all matches have to be played at the same time.

Then it is fair enough.  ;-) Though one might ask why thr RFU don't hold the last day on a Sunday to maximise the whole event :?:  ;-)

ah wait i just thought hopefully next season when the two teams are groundsharing, the two respective leagues will be able to arrange the fixtures so that both teams aren't playing home games at the same weekend-otherwise surely teams like reading and watford would always be playing on fridays and sundays?

Primacy of tenure - it's the crucial part of this whole deal

And make them play away at Plymouth, with an early kick off that makes it impossible to get there by public transport.

I'm sure some Navy boys will "put you up" for the weekend, Webbo

Another example of a lack of planning within the inner ranks of a Football Authority. :-( :? :? :?

This one also gives fuel to the fire for those peddling the "conspiracy theory" against City when it is obvious that we are not the closest club to Plymouth so why do we go there for the last game, why not someone nearer.

Good Point Steven, why not make all last games fairly local derbies. Makes alot of sense (although would not get away with a weekend in Plymouth if that was the case). We all know it is possible, as I remember a request from city about either having a boxingday match or last game being at home as we had'nt had one for ages and that was arranged.
Also it was said that if the ground share thing happened, then the egg chasing fixtures come out first and before they are released, the football fixtures worked out around those allowing as many saturday games for both sets of supporters.

But LCFC is a football team, not a rugby team. Sod it, let's just merge with the tigers, get Clive Woodward in as head coach and invent a new game called twatball in which 20 odd players can kick or pick up a square shaped balled and to score you have to ram in up the supporters arses - well let's face it, all the LCFC fans are being shafted anyway. :x :x

Joe I was not backing the groudshare thing, I'm against it as you know, I was backing Steven's theory by saying that the fixture list could be changed if they wanted too in much the same way as it could be tampered with, heaven forbid.
I think your idea for a new game would go down better with the egg chasers as it involves sticking things up arses!

Its not about the fixture clash as such, its about police resource following info on Leeds trouble makers meaning a large police prescence is required - this info came via a Fans Forum rep who attended the last Safety Advisory Group meeting.
