On the Companies House website, you can order various reports about companies and the directors of those companies for £1 each.

I have a relative who for various reasons would like to order some of these reports regarding a company owned by a former 'friend'.

If she orders these, are they supplied totally anonymously without the company or director concerned knowing that a specific person has purchased a report on them or their company?

We have a CH account at work and get Financial Accounts on a daily basis. As far as I am aware there is nothing passed to the company concerned or its directors. I have never seen any records on the searches I have done.

In fact, I would think that it would fall under data protection act for a persons name to be passed on.

I've never been informed that anyone has ever asked for info on any company I've been involved with and I've been a director / company secretary for a number of companies.

I did this a few months ago from Companies House with similar results.

No worries at all, you can get as many reports as you want without the company/ companies in question knowing anything at all. I had reports last year on 3 companies owned by 1 person and he was never told.
