I have backed up all of my documents from one WinXP Home PC onto a portable hard drive. No problem accessing the files on the original PC.
When I plug the drive into a second WinXP Home PC most of the files can't be accessed - I get an 'access denied' message.
I suspect this is something to do with the NTFS drive or else some sort of 'security' feature to stop documents being accessed on another PC.
Plugged the drive into a Linux box but it couldn't mount it due to the filing system in use (NTFS-(something)3).
Any ideas?
I could go back to the host PC and copy all the files outside of My Documents and that would work but I want to access these files now and don't have access to the original PC.
Thanks Gurus :icon_bigg
