Re: Cov (a)

Surprised Gallagher is on the bench.

Who is playing up front with Vassell and Nugent or is it a 4-4-2?

Re: Cov (a)

Well Sven has surprised me there! It must be something like:

kasper

Peltier
Mills
Bamba
Konchesky

Fernandes
Abe
Danns
Wellens

Nugent
Vassell

I expect the midfield four to be quite fluid, though either Abe or Fernandes might have a designated sitting role.

Re: Cov (a)

though it could be a midfield 3 with danns just in behind the front two?

is king paying the price for not doing enough in our half of the pitch?

Re: Cov (a)

Interesting!
not sure what to make of the 4 midfileders. (If vassell & Nugent up front)
Are any of them actual wide players?

Re: Cov (a)

Danns can play on the wing I think. Stringer reckoned it would be a 4-3-3 with Danns on the wing at any rate.

Re: Cov (a)

A solid looking team with a reasonable bench and still no sign of Pantsil and Johnson.

Re: Cov (a)

Think it will be a diamond formation or 4-1-3-2. Not surprised to see both King and Gally on the bench and I think this will happen a lot in our away games. Not sure either offer enough in work rate and defensively. Proves that Sven has learnt from last season

Yeah he played wide quite a bit for Palace so I'd imagine midfield 3 of wellens, abe & fernandes with Vas & Danns as wide players with Nugent up top on his own.

Re: Cov (a)

Is there a link to commentary? I don't have foxesplayer yet, and I'm outside of the UK....

One of the 5Live chanels is broadcasting it so you should be able to get that online, not sure about foxesplayer or radio leicester.

Re: Cov (a)

I think this is great from Sven. Coventry would have expected us to line-up pretty much like we all thought; and he's gone and thrown a curve-ball. They must be scratching their heads at this one.

If things aren't going our way, we've got the option to bring on King and Gallagher to revert to a more natural shape.

With the amount of players in the squad, it may allow Sven to rotate players and formations on a regular basis. Whether that will benefit us remains to be seen.

Hmmm, didn't think of that, interesting idea, I think you could well be right. As good as our home form under SGE was last season our away form was pretty poor, would certainly make sense if we see sides set up which are hard to beat rather than ones which go out an attack when playing away from home this season.

Re: Cov (a)

Commentary is on 5Live I think anyway. Can you get that through the BBC site outside the UK?

Re: Cov (a)

Surprised to see Gally on the Bench what with him being our main threat from set pieces.

Re: Cov (a)

Not having King or Gallagher in the starting eleven has surprised me, but it looks a good selection with options on the bench.
