Hope we get one or two back from injury, particularly Mcateer. We really are short in midfield without Wilf.

Hopefully we can sell Soumare/Ward/Praet and generate some funds.

If we can sell both Soumare and Ward, that would be brilliant.

Will be a tough one this and the start of a challenging little run of games in general. Mark Robbins has turned things around again after losing their most important players over the summer. Currently only behind us and Southampton as the most in form sides in the league. On top of that it's a spicy Derby away day...

Not a derby for all of us. Coventry is in the West Midlands to me, no different to Birmingham, for example.

They are the only fanbase scruffier than ours.

It's the scruffy **** derby

I grew up in South Leicestershire and had absolutely no awareness of any sort of rivalry with Coventry.

They were the Palace of their day, stinking out the lower reaches of the top league and we were largely pissing about in the league below.

Coventry were Jimmy Hill, brown kits and the FA Cup win. They always seemed to have a thing with Villa back then. I remember being pleased for them in 1987.

Despite the best efforts of a small proportion of the fans of both teams, I've never seen or heard anything in actual games between the sides that makes it feel anything special.

I can hear Sally Traffic now on Radio 2:

“There are major delays at Junction 1 of the M69 due to a RTA involving Leicester City Fans.

This is mainly down to heavy traffic on the M69 due to the scruffy **** Derby between Coventry and Leicester later today.

People with smart attire such as James Maddison are advised to avoid the area as it is already infested with ****s.”

I'm in the "not a derby" camp too. I grew up in the west end mostly, apart from an awful couple of years in Glenfield. Went to school at Beaumont Leys. It was Forest & Derby & that was it. Cov were just a team from near Birmingham & I didn't give a ****. The M69 meant **** all to me.

I even cheered for them in 87 watching them **** Spurs over.

Just another game. Let's just win it, get this waste of a season over with & forget it ever happened.

Roll on summer, warm weather, flat racing, low energy bills & transfer speculation. The older I get the more I ****ing detest this miserable shitcunt time of year & can't wait for it to be over.

I don’t think it has been a “waste of a season” as you put it.
Just the opposite, in fact.
New manager
New players
New style of football ( football with a plan !)

It’s almost like a hard reset .

As for those saying “ he’s not good enough for the premier league” about individual players, there’s only one way to find out.

But let’s get there first , it’s only January ;)

It's a waste of a season in that it should never have been needed. New management should have been in place 18 months sooner & the whole of last season should have been very different. I'll go to my grave knowing that to be true.

Yes, you're right. In the context of where we actually are it's far from a waste. It's just that we should never have been here. Or even close.

They really up for this ****er. Some pretty vile helicopter banners going up on the M69

Coventry have won one of their last 17 league matches against Leicester City (D7 L9), a 2-0 win in February 2008 under Chris Coleman.

This is Leicester’s first league visit to Coventry City since the opening day of the 2011-12 Championship season. The Foxes won 1-0 with a goal by Lee Peltier.

Since losing four league games in a row in October and November, Coventry have lost just one of their last 11 Championship matches (W6 D4). In that timeframe (November 11th onwards), only Leicester (26) and Southampton (25) have more points than the Sky Blues (22).

Leicester City are the first second tier side to have won 21 league games in their first 26 matches since Tottenham Hotspur in 1919-20 (also 21 wins). They are the first side outside of the top-flight with that many wins after 26 games since Northampton Town in the fourth tier in 1986-87 (also 21).

Coventry’s Haji Wright has been involved in at least one goal in his last five Championship starts (3 goals, 3 assists) and has the highest expected goals per 90 minutes figure of any player with 500+ mins played this season (0.63); second in this regard is Leicester’s Kelechi Iheanacho (0.59).
