King Earns Pro Contract
Posted on: Tue 02 Sep 2008
Craig King has followed in the footsteps of Luke O'Neill and signed his first professional contract with Leicester City.
The 17-year-old winger/striker from Chesterfield has put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal having impressed for the Academy and Reserves in recent seasons.
King was an unused substitute in the Carling Cup defeat at Fulham but is held in high regard by the Foxes management team.
Manager Nigel Pearson said: "Craig is another young lad who has a bright future ahead of him.
"He is very level-headed and knows that he still has an enormous amount of work to do if he is to continue to progress in the game.
"But he deserves to have been rewarded for his attitude and application and we will be keeping a close eye on his development."
