I have a strong suspicion that both Liverpool and Arsenal have inserted clauses that they would expect this keeper to play and Gilbert to play. The latter could well have been the main reason for Chambers' departure - he would have been unwilling at his age and level of experience to be 2nd choice. I'm sure you're right that Pearson would not like this but it might have been a 'take it or leave it condition'. You would think that clubs with very well- rated young prospects from premier league clubs would be in a strong position to negotiate this as a condition of their move.

I personally can't see Henderson being happy with second choice now. He doesn't deserve it.
