Guy at work reckons one of his mates went on one of these.
We reckon his mate is winding him up. Anyone ever heard of anything like this?
Basically he claims this lad went for a day to the pyramids and flew straight back.

There used to be a day-trip to Luxor from Bournemouth Airport, so what your mate says may have been possible. It involved flight out in the early hours of the morning and returned early the same evening if I recall correctly.

He can't be so young because these trips were about 10 years ago. Did he provide evidence that this is what he had done?

As i say it was a friend of the lad I work with. He went with his parents when he was about 13 from Heathrow so not quite the one you linked to but very similar.
