Apparently we're competing with Birmingham for Dennis Rommedahl, the former Charlton winger. His current club, Olympiakos, hope to conclude a deal within a week.

Wasn't the rumour several months ago that he'd agreed to join us at the end of his contract?

I'm sure the football rumours website said it was 100% true, so I'll take their word for it.

He'll be unveiled on Friday, or before then, if they do what they did with Danns and announce it before he's officially our player.

I am too and on this forum we very often dismiss the signing of anyone over 25 very quickly. But on this one my gut feeling is it would be an extra payday for the player with little benefit to us.

Not sure why him being 33 should automatically rule him out as a potentially good signing. A promotion winning team NEEDS experience.

You only need to look at QPR last season - lots of players well over 25 and they pretty much pissed the league. It's alright have great players like Taraabt, but you need that experoxide as well - which is why I think Sven is keen to keep players like Oakley and Howard around, even if they're not playing much, as they must be a very positive influence on the dressing room. After all - they both did it with Derby.
