i believed him that it was just a lucky camera shot ..... until i saw the picture. :?

In his autobiography the trouble-prone Italian said he was 'fascinated' by Mussolini, whom he described as 'deeply misunderstood' and 'basically a very principled, ethical individual'.

... yes and Hitler was kind to his mum. Having seen this photo, he should be banned for life.

Reminds me of the Bosnich incident when he played for Villa. He did a similar thing to the Spurs fans, very tasteless.

Apparently he's 'waving' to the crowd  What a load of toss!

Not a nice thing to do but if thats his views than thats his choice, whether you find it bizarre or not Mussolini is admired by many Itailians and Di Canio was brought up in Rome and was an "ultra" of the "irriducible" of Lazio so Im not suprised by his views.

We cant start banning people from working just because of thier political beliefs though, its a persons choice, no matter how repulsive you find it.

So I should tolerate Fascism or Communism then.

no, but you should tolerate people's right to choose whatever political choice they want.

If you dont you might as well be endorsing facism or communism as far I can see

Everybody is entitled to their views, yes, but this is not the way to express them. Have you thought what the consequences of his actions could have been. It could have caused a riot with innocent people being crushed.

The way to express your views are in the newspapers

BS argument im afraid
yes, everyones view is valid, yes everyones entitled to a point of view. however, the football field is a place where this should never be brought into it. shoud di canio wish to support fascism, all power to him, thats his choice, but his actions could have incited riots, such are the level of feelings surrounding the situation

was paul gascoigne rite when he mimicked playing the flute in an old firm derby? no. not because his beliefs were wrong, but because of the circumstances. football stadia are for football, end of IMO

I Agree 100%

Surely this is incitement, and bearing in mind some of the recent unsavory incidents involving racist chanting rearing it's ugly head, this is the last thing we need.

I am sure this will go unpunished just as that Racist tosser Luis Arogones has got away with his blatant racist comments recently. Would these people be punished if they were English definately. Come on FIFA sort it out and these 2 need to be made an example of.

You think Paulo should write in a newspaper then :D From what I saw his sign was made to the Lazio end of the olimpico which wouldnt be offensive at all, I have actually attended 40-50 Lazio games in that end when I lived in Rome and I can say that although it was very far right, its the most fanatical amazing support I have ever seen, truly truly incredible unless you have been there, if we at LCFC had that in the PREMIER we would go almost unbeaten through a premiership season, its remarkable, I remember being in a staduim before a Lazio V Roma game and the crowd was full 4hrs! before kick off, a footballing experience that can only be matched by watching a Boca V River match at La Bomberena, Termendous. (sorry Ive wittled on there a bit havnt I? :D just when you do this stuff in the flesh its amazing i promise you, please please do it if you ever get the chance) ;)

No need for the abuse towards Aragones, that man has made at least 200 black footballers a living from football and thousands of pounds through charity work in north africa and you think you can call him a "racist tosser" BOLLOCKS.

Why dont you talk to Etoo?, Ettien, Morales, Makalula. Beyanoun, Essien, about Aragones??? The guy made one comment in a training session and you value that above taking in black and north african into spain over a 20 year period?? Please please tell me your kidding, do you write for the Sun? :?

Luis Aragones has done more for black footballers in europe than 90% of the coaches in the game, the fact you should call him a "racist tosser" is nothing short of scandalous. Terrible. A wonderful man who does more for charity than 99% on this world, HAS THE SUN REPORTER ARAGONES donated 100million euros (thats 2 months salary)! to the tsumani appeal!?? No I wonder why? not as newsworthy as calling someone a name is it, pathetic, absolutely pathetic.

think ure missing the point a little here..
at such a politically sensitive time in football (coming as it did after the taunting of black english players by spanish fans) when feelings are running high, using this kind of language is at best incredibly naive.
ure argument that he has done good charity work is valid, but let me offer you a parallel. if i work with orphans for 20 years does it then give me a right to kick orphans? i think not
anyone in the public eye has to be very careful about what they say and how they say it. aragones has been rightly publicly castigated in my opinion
we all know about lazio's support and we're all aware of the beliefs they hold. thats up to them. personally i think they should be banned from the stadium as politics has no place in football. however, as a figure in the public eye, for di canio to make such a gesture in front of tv cameras and press photographers is entirely unacceptable to the majority of football fans and this is the problem. would you be happy if a hearts player pandered to a minority of NF thugs in the tynecastle crowd? no, and neither would i
no matter what his fans believe or his personal beliefs, di canio crossed the line in making such a public display. football stadia are for football and football alone
