So it has come out that he has failed his permit application and is not coming back.

Massive blow. With Kruger also gone and that West Indian bowler now not coming either then we will have to rely on kids. Very weak attack. Another season of struggle predicted.

The club say they are looking at getting an overseas bowler from the beginning of June. Probably means that Dippenaar will be coming as a kolpak... if they are still permitted?

Beyond next season looks even bleaker. Pretty sure that this is Dippenaar's & Ackerman's last year on their contracts... we will have 75% of the team being under 20! No way of competing.

The big clubs (whose representatives sit on the board of the ECB) just don't like the smaller counties being able to challenge so withdraw funding and all the loopholes (ie. kolpak ruling). The likes of Leicestershire are being driven out of existance.
