Drawn out saga.

Last season West Ham lost more games than us and yet still they got promoted. The fact we drew over 20 league games killed our season. With 2 draws in our 1st 4 games this season i hope that Leveins comments about less exciting games were tongue in cheek stuff. If you take 2 sets of results over 15 games.

I.E won 4 drawn 6 lost 4 = 18pts.
I.E won 6 drawn 3 lost 6= 21pts.

Its obvious that draws feck you up. So please, please , please , Mr Levein take a few gambles because it might just have us looking at the top end of the table rather than the bottom. Last weeks result ( 2-2 Crewe) could have been worse after the dismal start, but by the end of the game i was disapointed that we failed to win.

I agree with you and I have reason to believe that is how CL thinks based on earlier interviews.

I believe CL is aware that Draws aren't really any use,or lots of them aren't.I think you will find us going for the Win if we are level.

Is that why Elvis was on cos CL knew that if Elvis would gyrate his hips 1 too many times he'd miss the chance to win a game in the 83rd minute and we'd have a draw.

To be fair I think we all now and so does mr CL that 21 draws isnt gonna do us any good. We wont even make a playoff spot (unless we go unbeaten all season!).

I think pulling back a 2-2 draw against crew was a good result from the early position we found ourselves in. Also before the game wouldnt a majority of fans on here have taken a draw against Ipswich.

Watch the panic button but nobody should hit it yet.

I think most over posters will understand what my point is, so its a pity you choose to put a different slant on it. I wouldn't expect anything other than for us to go for 3 pts against the likes of Crewe. But when you play against the stronger teams in the league then i'd like to see us have a right good go even if we come out on the wrong side of it. It would be easy to make 2 negative substitutes in the last 20 mins in order to scrape a draw. Sod that, lets have a go and let the other teams worry about us rather than the other way round. At least then you not going to walk out of the ground thinking ' if only '.

yeh I have often said that I wished we would just go for it a little more.

I still think that at 2-0 down that early on against crewe we did well to get a draw back and from the highlights I have seen I reckon that we did go for the win. Ths king certainly had a few chances.

But I still think its a little early at the mo. The draws wont help us. But lets hope we really do go for it every game and the wins will hopefully follow.

from what i have seen this season thats exactly how CL is shaping the team but can't go all out hell for leather with a back four who haven't had time to gel

Fair point its not been great for us in defense so far, but if we were to become a more attack minded team then leaking goals maybe the price to pay. It all depends what you prefer a 3-2 result or 1-0. IMO we have been rather dour in recent seasons and i'd like to see us become a little more entertaining. Just my opinion of course

i'd hate for us to go down the Kevin Keegan route of football. but i still think that given time to get used to each other we have one of the strongest (most promising) Back lines in this division and when they are sorted and playing well as a unit we can afford to be more attacking knowing that the back four can cope with most counter attacks.

The goal scoring record speaks for itself what is happening and that is we not playing for draws, the reason you find you cant take every team on is the morale problem a 5-0 thrashing can leave you with.

I'd have thought 96 points would be enough for an automatic promotion spot and more than likely the championship.

Its early days and compared to last season we are looking good so there is no reason to panic, Just give him time to sort it out.

In the games we have played so far, the one thing that cannot be levelled at us is the fact we are negative, CL has demonstrated in every game his desire to win 3 points, against Sheff Utd we attacked and when we equalised through to the award of the penalty we were the more attacking side. We played positively to beat Stoke, and the 2 draws vs Crewe and Ipswich on both occasions we were the side who created the better chances and we were disappointed not to come out with 3 points of each encounter and that was bearing in mind we were 2 - 0 to Crewe.

BB it's not a case of what others can see the fact is there is no problem. CL is trying to win every game. Let's just see how it pans out. :icon_cool
The 2 games we drew, one we came up against 2 young keepers that were either going to play out of their skins or get blown away (unfortunately for us they played well!:icon_cry: )
As for Crewe, we didn't turn up for 20 minutes, found ourselves 2-0 down and in the end were unfortunate not to win.
