they have to play in the qualifying round of the Champions league which is on the 25/07. they already had a friendly lined up for the that day against a certain Inter Milan which had to be cancelled and well you know the rest

The fact that 2 teams from the SPL qualify for the champions league makes it almost impossible for Rangers and Celtic not to be in it every year then.
