DVD Rental

Has anyone used any of the online DVD rental services?


I'm in the process of setting up a new site (see the link above) which will have user reviews of each DVD rental service, so if anyone has used one and wants to share their thoughts please do so in this thread.
There's nothing like getting other people to do work for you for free :icon_wink

LoveFilm is apparently shite.

My friend uses Amazon. Enjoys it loads, one probelm is if the dvd contains more than one disc than that counts as more than one with only four or five (I think) rentals a week, if he gets a double disc and wants a trilogy (Three Colours Trilogy he had the probelm with), then he can only rent one more in the month.

Im using LoveFilm now and have been for well over a year. Im on the 2 disks at a time option for 12 quid a month. Absolute bargain if you get the time to watch them enough. It'll save you loads in the long run, rather than buying the DVD's.

until one goes missing in the post!

their customer service is poor and it takes sometimes over a week to get a disc after you have send one back!

Ive never had a problem with them and have always recieved the disks 1 or 2 days after dispatch. I dont know how good other sites are, but Im perfectly happy using LoveFilm

Ive rented 126 disks from LoveFilm and have only ever had 2 bad disks.

i have often had damanged discs, once 4 discs in a row were bad.
A friend is using blockbuster and thinks they are far better.

Like I said I cant talk for other companies but for me LoveFilm has been great value.

i was with them for about 3 years.

i noticed the discs came slower than longer i was with with them.
Also many of the discs at the top of the list never came
Discs i never ordered were being delievered
And you have to phone them up to cancel rather than just email them like you used to be able to do!

Ok, they must have changed a lot lately then. I was with ScreenSelect for a while and they joined with LoveFilm and have carried on using the LoveFilm name. Since they joined together, LF must have learned how to give better service from ScreenSelect I guess.

i found they got worse when they joined together.

LoveFilm is apparently shite.

EasyCinema is just a rebranded version of LoveFilm, with a different pricing structure. So the choice of DVDs, customer service etc should be the same.
A lot of other companies also use rebranded versions of LoveFilm, including Tesco.
