I have just seen East Bengal winning on the TV over here. 1-0. It was a good result versus the second placed side. The thing was though the pitch and the surrounding "stands".
The pitch due to the monsoons is like a paddy field and only a metre or so from the touchline the grass is about half a metre high. The pitch is fenced in and some sort of creeper is growing on the fence. The "seats" in the "stands" had plants growing in and around them. And no stewards.
It may have been something out of a Sunday park game (I wonder what they thought when they got to Filbert Street, sorry the Walkers) but at least they were playing football and giving it 100%.
East Bengal are top of the league.
