One other point about this competition.

Obviously, the winner goes into the Europa League next season which is our only realistic route into Europe.

However, a key additional benefit is that the winner of the Conference League are also top seeds in the Europa League. That means no qualification and a friendlier draw - we were in Pot 2 this year.

This is something that made a real difference in 16/17 where we weren't placed based on coefficient but on the fact that we won the PL so got a favourable group.
