Some good draws for some of the lower league teams:
Tamworth v Spurs
Man City v Salford
Leeds v Harrogate
Newcastle v Bromley
Liverpool v Accrington Stanley
Chelsea v Morecambe

The 1974 FA Cup tie features before every game in the montage at the KP. It was when Joe Waters scored both goals to get us to the semi final. He was a kid but it was his career high.

Our only other meeting in the competition came in 1987 where QPR walloped us 5-2. Two future City players were among the QPR scorers that day. Alan Smith and Gary Mac got our goals.

I used to live 3 minutes walk from Loftus Road Stadium above the Coningham Arms pub.

Loftus Road was a regular for me just to watch live sport. Always a shithole, but fond memories there.

Last time I was there:

It's a home match against a team we should be able to beat - we're going to need a confidence builder and the opportunity for Ruud to try some new ideas or members of the squad. This is probably the kind of draw we should have been asking for.

Agree. We realistically want a quick exit from this competition.

But it gives Ruud a free hit to try some things out, and potentially progress.

A game to play the kids so that Ruud can see our youth players in action.
BTW, do we have any youth players? (asking for a friend of Steve Coopers)

I think the opposite.

We have plenty of players and not too many fixtures ahead.

The benefits of a cup run far outweigh the risk.

As long as it's evident that the focus is the league, then I'm all for a cup run.

It gives RVN time to see his players in matches, sooner rather than later, without taking risks in the league. Plus, a cup run builds camaraderie and potentially, confidence.

All their goals from that -87 game, and none of our. Robbie James and Terry Fenwick were the two future City players

I just watched that clip. Presumably either one of those 'goals' was disallowed or my ability to count is failing me.
