Fans have their say on poor atmosphere and poor food and drink at ‘Your 90 Minutes’

As part of the new Fan Engagement Framework, the club has re-started it’s ‘Your 90 minutes’ sessions for fans to come and give their views to the club on various topics

Here is a summary of the session

Damn right on the last point.

You cannot ask any group “without mentioning X, what annoys you most” when you know X is the problem.

The question now is whether the club cares about whether or not the fans are happy.

Spoiler alert : Nah.

This bit annoyed me too (in relation to safe standing):

"There were discussions about where it could go as you have to consider sight lines. The away fans will need it as well as a home section."

We don't play at Goodison, we play in a flat pack ground with similar views from all seats and plenty of other clubs, who have pretty much the same stadium, have already done it. We also know that it has to cater for away fans too, we're not (all) thick. It's just such a lame answer and doesn't add anything to the discussion, other than to palm people off and it should be challenged.

The only way it could be a legitimate answer from their side, is if they know nothing about it and haven't even looked into it in the slightest yet, which is believable but unbelievable at the same time, so I can't see that as realistic.

Also, **** away fans.

Interesting point about the 25 year deal on catering being the root cause of the catering issues.
I attended the same your 90 mins meeting a few years back and they never even raised the issue of the contract. They blamed it on the poor stadium design ( not enough outlets and concourse not wide enough) .
They also claimed they served every customer within 45 seconds .

I've been in the Trinity Stand at Villa Park a few times. That's slightly older than our stadium I think, but the concourse is massive in comparison.

It takes forever to get a beer there - although some of the food options, especially Pietanic (a local independent pie maker) are miles above our offering.

I have to say, there's no queue issues prematch in the east stand.

When I was a student, I signed up to an agency as a waiter. One of the first jobs they offered was at the KP on a matchday behind one of the kiosks.

I distinctly remember that despite it being the middle of the season, pretty much all of the staff were completely new agency staff. No one knew what to do, and half the team struggled with English. It was a ****ing shambles.

Pay peanuts. Get morons like me.

They claimed at the time that they don't retain any staff.
They have all new temps 5 hours including 2 hours health and safety training.
Next game whole new set of temps start again ad infinitum.

That’s sounds a pretty watertight system to me - what could possibly go wrong with an amazing process like that.

This is just the Leicesterest thing I’ve read today

I did this as my sixth form job. Took about four games until I was in charge of a kiosk, and then spent the next season in charge of the bizarre kiosk that straddles home and away fans in the North stand because I gave the impression that I'd be able to throw somebody back over the counter if they tried anything...
