flogging stuff

have recently moved house and was struck by how much stuff i have

(about 300 vinyl and 200 CDs)

has anyone ever flogged a load of music on ebay?

is it a pain in the arse?

should i just dump it at the charity shop



also, quite slyly, all my electrical equipment has become obsolete:-

a TV: it has a cathode ray tube, how shit is that?
a VCR: yeah a VCR, it's the size of the earth and it's crap
a CD player: who'd have thought this could look woefully big
technics 1210s, a mixer and vinyl: all massive, i could just nick it all onto mp3 and buy a little mp3 mixer thingy

my housemate has a laptop with a TV card, a plasma screen telly and one of them DVD/HDD recorders, how old do i feel?

i'm gonna give away my VHS stuff, VHS is shite

then flog my CDs on ebay, dance music first then indie music

i will get next to nothing to the dance music, it ages very quickly and besides, you can nick it all now on the internet

Depends on how old it actually is. If you have late 80s/early 90s acid house/rave vinyls you could make a pretty penny.

was into the Stone Roses in 1990 not rave

got into dance music as it moved into the clubs in early 90s and bought vinyl solidly from 1995 to 2000 and then it petered out as i was in London working instead of loafing about

the vinyl may get me a bit of money... depends on if i have any hidden gems that i haven't thought about.... i'll keep all my favs though, the top 10%

I've got quite a few dance records from 87-88ish, a lot of them aren't in great condition though.

mainly trance & house & hard house from nineties

i like Paul van Dyk, Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, but i have lots of random records too

firstly, i'm gonna sit down and catalogue my dance CDs that i'm getting rid of (most of them, i've ipodded the good ones)

not sure...one thing's for sure, i'm not going to make it as a DJ

i can't rig them up, they're cluttering up space and so are the records

i'm gonna sell my CDs first, or give them away

i'm due a very dull day cataloging, pity i wasn't in this rainy weekend, would have been perfect to do dull stuff like that

i have about 300 records... a lot of so-so stuff that i won't mind losing

maybe flog most of it, keep the ones i love and keep one deck, like a seperables add on

oh and i might sell the TV first as well... effort
