... and what a surprise, we're near the top!

The Football League has revealed a rise of £5m in fees paid to agents by its member clubs, taking the total for the 2011-12 season to £21.7m.

West Ham paid most at £4.3m (one fifth of the total!) and we were second with £1.8m.

Doncaster spent the least in the Championship. Surprising, considering some of the players they signed in the second half of the season. Assumed they were paying out big bucks.

How ****ed would West Ham have been if they'd lost the playoff final?

Not really when you consider how they were signed.

Anyway, this news only serves to convince me further that I've made the right decision. Fantastic.

I can't believe the Doncaster figures are accurate considering all the deals were done through Willie Mckay. In fact, I'm sure they took him on in a pseudo director of football position, so whilst it may not be classed as agents' fees, I'm certain they paid a fair whack to an agent.

Still ridiculous fees though.

The chairman of national express is now on suicide watch.
