I don’t have an Athletic subscription but here are a few faves off the top of my head;

Bosman, wantaway, exit door, saga, come and get me plea, shock, pull the plug, rift, land, cough up, launch, match their valuation, lining up, with x going the other way, plot, flog, starlet, eyeing, emotional farewell, join the race.
