....Sorry but crossed over to the dark side for a read this morning and could not believe what I was reading.

Bearing in mind the position we were in when Levein was sacked, to have assured our safety with 4 games to go and enable us to play out those games in comfort has been testament to Kelly and his management team, but to read through posts comparing him to Levein for his aftermatch comments and criticism of his tactics begger belief.

We have lost one meaningless match, lets be honest in January most of us would have accepted being in a position of needing a result at Southampton, such was the severity of our predictament.

Also bear in mind we were playing a side in 5th position and with everything to play for in terms of securing home advantage for the play offs, it was no disgrace and certainly not a reason for all hope to disappear for next season, they must remember this is a fairly young squad who have been through a tough season and a very steep learning curve, and on the whole when the going got tough these players responded with a terrific run of results and form, so surely they can be forgiven for one disappointing result and perofrmance. As for the 'fans' looking to criticise, one phrase springs to mind 'fickle boneheads'.

a-z there is a lesson to be learnt, listen to the Jedi, never turn to the dark side!

Unbelievable. Mind you it does illustrate one important reason for winning the last few games...to keep the positive attitude around the club. The last thing we need is for fickle boneheads like that to start being negative and start having a go at players....again.

I agree, but there has to be a degree of realism, the team has come a long way in a very short space of time and to be beaten by a team like Preston, who are very similar to us in terms of their philosphy and the way they want the club to develop is no disgrace, we must remember that Billy Davies is 18 months ahead of RK in his team developement.

There is no reason why next season we cannot emulate the success of either Preston or Watford, clubs who have appointed young and inexperienced managers, but who have the drive, ambition and vision to produce something special with young and hungry players, but we must have a degree of paitence. RK has performed a minor miracle in the last 3 months and given a level playing field next season I am confident he will get the maximum out of the players at his disposal and that a genuine challenge for the play offs is well within our capabilities.

well said a-z.

I said a while ago not to judge a manger on his caretaker performance. So often a caretaker manager does a fantastic job then gets the job full time and does nothing for a season. lets give rk a clean sheet and whilst i thank him for keeping him us up the real work starts at the end of this season in how much of this young team he can keep together and what he can add to it to move us on to the next step next season.

Absolutely...I'm not saying that we should expect to win the next 3 games just that there are various reasons for doing so. But if we don't I just hope the fickle boneheads stay quiet.
