He has published his auto-biography, entitled 'True Grit'.

For those of you who remember; how bad of a manager was he for us? Can comparisons be made with Taylor?

But hey, let's not keep this a negative thread (as he is a Leicester footballing legend). How good of a footballer was he? He must have been very good to be the 'people's choice' to take over from Jimmy Bloomfield as our manager.

Oh, and will anybody buy the book?

An excellent player and a poor manager. The type of player he bought was closer to MA that PT. :icon_eek: ;)

like MA buying old has-been players, FMcL equivalent buying George Armstrong (that winger from Arsenal?)

He was a real crap manager for sure worst than Taylor or Pleat.

Some of the players he brought in were not even good enough for the old third/fourth division yet alone the First division.

Lammie Robertson anyone remember him?
What a duffer he was.

Frank Mclintock was a truly exceptional player - a genuine international wing half ( midfielder in to-day's language) - equally strong as an attacking player and fine tackler. There was another fine young wing half in the established in the side called Ian White - but Mclintock quickly displaced him - he was a key member of the 1962/ 63 team which went top of the old first division on Easter Tuesday 1963 - i.e. we were in sight of the then proper championship.

As a manager - he was pretty hopeless but to be fair he inherited an ageing Bloomfield side - and it was one of the club's worst mistakes ever to sack Bloomfield anyway.

You cant say that about Uncle Frank, the guy is a comedy genius, how many times on soccer saturday has Geoff Stelling given our Frank the big build up only for Frankie to completely switch off and miss the link, absolute class.
