Free domain name registration

I know a few of you out there host a few websites so thought this might be of interest. I recently wanted to host a site but didn't want to pay anything to do so and I came across the .co.cc domain service. If you go to www.co.cc you can register two domains for free forever. Quite useful for test projects or small internal sites.

Is it just the domain or is there hosting space as well?

It's not a real alternative to a proper domain, in fact it's not a real domain, it's a subdomain. There have been similar services in the past that have closed down without warning.

http://godaddy.co.uk are selling .coms for £1.99 at the moment. You can often find .info and .eu domains being sold for less than a pound for the first year.

I didn't realise that but I did suggest to use them for test projects.

For free hosting Mackster I use 000webhosts, haven't had any downtime yet (that I've noticed) and the spec is decent enough for what I need.
