Britain was left without a player in the French Open singles after Tim Henman suffered defeat to Latvia's Ernests Gulbis in the first round.
Henman went down in straight sets, 6-4 6-3 6-2 at Roland Garros.

Gulbis, 18, was ranked 84th in the world - 31 places below Henman - going into his Grand Slam debut.
