What is everyone's opinion on him so far? I think you can see that he is a good player but struggles to shine because our midfield is too attacking and he is forced to track back too much when I feel he needs an anchor man behind him to give him the confidence to venture forward.

Another theory of mine is that he isnt playing to his best so that the tribunal fee stays lower! What do you think?

I thinki him and nalis are too similar to work together. IMO he needs a hard tackeler next to him.

I agree the guy will be a class act this season if played with Gudjonsson, they will compliment each other well and with Keown, Heath or Dabizas at the back and Dublin and Connolly up top we look to have a really strong spine to the team.

I think credit has to go to MA, this summer he seems to have bought genuine quality and i tend to agree that this squad would possibly had more chance of staying up last season with the exception of possibly Muzzy and Sir Les both legends.

The futures bright, the futures blue !!!!

Given Williams' almighty ego, I hope for your sake that they complement rather compliment each other. If his head gets any bigger he won't be able to get through the tunnel

But seriously, you are right that Williams definitely needs some steel alongside him. Without that he is at best an ineffective luxury and at worst a liability. He'll be a good player if you find the right midfield partner for him and get him playing at 100% rather than strutting about, standing back admiring his sideways passes.

Does a really good midfield player ever play a sideways pass? Coaches with oaching manuals play sideways passes. I think they were invented in the 60's/70's when a bloke called Charles Hughes introduced boredom into football with a manual suggested it was safer for two men to go past one with a sideways pass rather than dribbling or a pass through the defenders legs! Did you ever see Zinedine Zidane, Dennis Bergkamp, Glen Hoddle, David Gibson|) ever play forward passes. If you've really got ego why pass sideways when you're the best man in the team to unlock a defence. If you want to go sideways you can join a linedancing club and if we want strutting in the middle of our park we can buy an ostrich.

Now I'm confused, I always thought Roy Keane was a decent player.

No offence was meant chap. It wasn't a dig at your spelling (I couldn't give a flying one about the literacy levels of internet message board users), I simply thought it was ironic in the light of Gareth Williams' notorious arrogance. It was a light-hearted comment, hence the wink smilie. I thought you might be interested to get an honest perspective about one of your players. Never mind.

I hope the rest of your weekend improves.

He's shit mate. He is Junior Lewis.

It must be bad, you have popped out of the woodwork to post. It must be about a year since I last saw you here.

I look on here every day but only usually post on a different board. Williams is terrible.

It's difficult to be a cultured midfielder when the ball is flying over your head all the time.

Says cultured Marlon, of the ever-so cultured Forest...gimme' a break feeder club boy, you even watched us this year?

I'd rather stick red hot pokers in my eyeballs.

I am merely going off reading what your OWN fans are saying on various boards.

I see there is a big clamber for Adams to go on Rivals. All is not well at the ranch eh ? Added to falling attendances (10000 empty seats yesterday).
