Kee Hat-Trick Sees Off Villa
Posted on: Sat 10 Nov 2007
A Billy Kee second half treble helped Leicester City's under 18 side to a 3-2 victory at Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon.
The Foxes had gone into the game on the back of a 3-1 home defeat to Bristol City - only their third reverse of the campaign to date.
But City got themselves back in the groove again following a remarkable comeback.
Steve Beaglehole's side had found themselves two goals down at the start of the second period, but a hat-trick from Kee, his third coming just six minutes from time, secured the points for the young Foxes.
Kee, who made the step up from the under 16s at the start of the campaign, now has an incredible 17 goals to his name for the season.
Academy manager Jon Rudkin said: "It was a very tight game. We went 1-0 down to an own goal earlier on before Villa added to their lead at the start of the second half.
"Heads could have dropped - but the lads never gave up and showed great spirit to win the game.
"In all fairness the second Villa goal sparked us into life and we started to capitalise on the chances that we were creating."
City: Cisak, Cox, Garner, Rowe-Turner, Cobb, Kee, Burns, Howard (O'Neill), Chambers, Odhiambo (John), McKay.
