Premiership Birmingham City have become the latest side to run the rule over Southern League Division One West club Bedworth United’s 17-year-old starlet Gilbert Cummins. Birmingham watched Gilbert during the recent defeat against promotion-chasing Yate Town and join Leicester City, Kidderminster Harriers and Crewe Alexandra in expressing interest in the teenager.
Bedworth player-manager Mark Hallam said: “While we’ve still got Gilbert, it’s great for us because he’s a tremendous asset. But I’m aware that interest is building.”
