I've long suspected that Gilbert the Filbert doesn't actually go to games but writes his reports from the radio commentary and his own imagination. Whenever I've listened to a match then read his report I keep noticing the same phrases that the commentators have used cropping up, or when I've been to a match then read his report it seems to be nothing like what I saw.
