ken bates ahs not paid off the near on £100million they owed when relegated. so how can they pay near on 1 million (including signing on etc) when they clearly havent cleared their debts.

Perhaps he thought that going an extra 1mill in debt, but securing the services of a 20-goal a season striker was a gamble worth taking if it helps to secure promotion. Personally i think it is money well spent, and with Blake,Hulse and Healy, they have one of the best strike forces in the division providing Crouch and Johnson leave s'oton and palace.

The figure of 100million was at the time the club was bought by the previous board, if I remember rightly, Leeds was actually three companies with that figure being quoted as the debt for all three, they got around this by buying only the football club, thus making the debt alot bloody smaller leaving the other two companies with the larger debts.
So they have money trouble, but are better off than we are :icon_evil

This is only from memory, obviously if I have got this wrong somebody will nodoubt tell me
